Mick Hurd has been manufacturing contact lenses in Canada for over twenty years for both multinational firms and Canadian companies. His excellent craftsmanship reflects the pride he takes in producing quality lenses which exceed regular standards.
I have known and worked with Mick for fifteen years in his capacity as Manager of Western Canada for CCCL and have found his pleasant and cooperative manner has made customers appreciate his willingness to meet tight delivery times and assist in the design of technically complex lenses.
In earlier years, Mick was a technician conducting pioneer research and development work in the manufacture of silicone rubber contact lenses.
Mick has subsequently worked with a wide range of materials including the Alberta lenses, the TransAire lenses, the Boston line from Polymer Technology, and the Paragon Optical products.
He frequently helped develop enhanced lens manufacturing and inspection procedures and regularly provided guidance to other technicians to insure an overall higher quality of product. He is knowledgeable in various specialty and custom designs including toric lenses, keratoconus designs, and bifocal designs.

Mick Hurd has been manufacturing rigid gas permeable contact lenses for our office since 1994. This has been always done in a prompt, courteous, manner. Patients have been able to continue with their contact lense wear effectively since the contacts arrive promptly.
Toric and Kerataconic designs have never been a problem so that all patients can be fitted.
As Mick has access to many different materials to make these designs our office has never had a fitting limitation due to unavailability of a suitable material to make the design we have ordered.
